Why You Should Try An Alpine Coaster

Neil Sawford • December 21, 2022

Regardless of the season, adventurers can explore stunning Alpine destinations in various ways. The first things that you can think of are equestrian riding, mountain biking, or hiking. Riding an alpine coaster is the activity that follows these.

The top of the list of favorite summer activities should be riding an alpine coaster or mountain coaster in Branson. Today, many mountain resorts provide exciting rides in picturesque alpine settings.

What is an alpine coaster, and why should you try to experience this exhilarating mountain adventure ride? The popularity of alpine coasters is growing right now. In the United States, there were no alpine coasters before 2005. That is until Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park proprietor Steve Beckley took a plane to Germany. He went to try to persuade Wiegand Sports' owner to allow him to construct one here in the US.

The first Alpine Coaster was installed at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. Because cave excursions were growing more and more popular, it happened. The park's owners, Steve and Jeanne Beckley, thought it would be a great idea to provide visitors with something entertaining to do while they waited because of the lengthy lines for the tours. It turned out to be a fantastic concept! The Alpine Coaster debuted in 2005 and is a significant attraction for park visitors.

Since that time, alpine coasters have begun to appear in ski resorts throughout the nation. In 2020, two brand-new alpine coasters opened. We should all be happy that this trend doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon.

A mountain coaster in Branson is quite similar to an alpine coaster because riders may breathe clean air on this thrill ride as it is situated atop a mountain. Riders enjoy breathtaking natural scenery as they descend the hill at high speeds while negotiating tight corners.

Alpine coasters are built to benefit from the topography and elevation of the mountains. Individual vehicles connected to a permanent track are propelled downward by gravity along a mountain's natural features. Riders use a brake lever to regulate their pace.

The car is pulled up the hill after the trip on a closed loop track using a pulley system. Then there are systems where the rider ascends the mountain on a chairlift and descends a track. The original alpine slide is different from the alpine coaster. It is fastened to rails and typically travels on a closed track 360 degrees in the topography of the mountains.

Taking an adventure ride with the alpine roller coaster is exciting since it is situated in a breathtakingly beautiful mountain backdrop. A concrete jungle does not surround these adrenaline rides. Through a dense, verdant forest, your car might wind, dip, and make hairpin turns. Or perhaps it flies over a vast ski slope with gorgeous mountains and clear skies. Riders shout with delight as they experience the thrill, taking in the clean mountain air.

An alpine coaster doesn't require training, unlike skiing, the most popular method of accelerating down a ski slope. Additionally, no additional tools are needed. The closest you will go to needing specific gear is the close-toed footwear required for some alpine mountain coasters.

The Alpine Coaster was awarded one of the Top 10 Roller Coaster Rides of Your Life by USA Today and Park World Magazine. Think about all the thrilling aspects of roller coasters, including racing around sharp corners and flying over bumps and waves. Now picture yourself riding down an alpine slope in complete control of your speed, either by yourself or with a friend, and taking in the spectacular mountain view.

The enjoyment is secured. Unlike an alpine slide, you cannot fall out of the Alpine Coaster. The ride's cars are fastened to the track and are made to maneuver around the fastest hairpin corners. Ease up on the throttle if you'd instead go at a slower pace. The Alpine Coaster can run all year round because of its track system.

Try it in the winter when the rails are illuminated by hundreds of fairy lights and the slope is covered in snow. It's enchanted! Additionally, if you attempt it in the fall, you'll undoubtedly be mesmerized by the vivid vistas of the lovely foliage as your cart descends at a modest speed.

The mountain coaster in Branson, which is quite similar to the alpine coasters already operating in many regions of the US, is a fantastic way to amuse yourself because it offers an exhilarating adventure ride in a beautiful mountain setting.
