The forest has two hiking trail systems: a 10-mile "East" trail system and an 8-mile "West" trail system. These two trail systems cover more than 18 miles and pass through some of the most scenic and rugged terrains in the upper Ozarks. Fishing is permitted at Roark Creek, located at the northern end of the area. However, due to the intermittent flow of the Roark Creek stream, fishing opportunities can be limited.

The Roark Creek Trail follows the picturesque Roark Creek up through the Roark Creek Valley from Lake Taneycomo. The last half-mile of the trail is unpaved and leads to a bluff with a creek view. This paved trail links the Branson Landing, North Beach, and Stockstill Parks.

Table Rock Lakeshore Trail at Table Rock State Park

Table Rock Lakeshore Trail, 2.5 miles south of Branson, has a 2.2-mile trail that connects to the Dewey Short Visitor Center.
